HDPE - "Click" here to buy online

HDPE is actually a very popular engineering plastic and is sometimes confused with other similar materials. HDPE is normally available in two grades, 300 grade and 500 grade. The higher number denotes the density of the material and can improve on performance. HDPE is often chosen because of its FDA approval and food contact suitability and its excellent machineability. The majority of HDPE is available in either black or white although 500 grade sheet is available in a range of colours, which can sometimes help with food preparation or process identification. HDPE Sheet

HDPE Sheet
HDPE Sheet is available is overall sheet sizes of 2000 x 1000 and 3000 x 1500, although we sell selected optimum sizes through our online webshop. Thickness for HDPE Sheet range from 1mm up to 60mm thick and includes many standard sheet thicknesses within its range. Most popular grade is HDPE grade 300 which offers excellent performance for wear resistance and machineability. The other grade of HDPE is the 500 grade, this grade has a slightly better performance but is more expensive. 300 grade HDPE is often manufactured by extruding the polymer through rollers whereas HDPE 500 grade is often pressed under huge pressure and then finally machined to thickness.

HDPE Rod
HDPE Rod HDPE Rod is generally only available in the 300 grade and is extruded through circular dies under huge pressure. Size range typically starts at 10mm diameter and ranges up to 700mm diameter with many and varied size ranges in between. HDPE Rod is very good for abrasion resistance and will outlast many other engineering plastics in abrasive environments. Colours available for HDPE Rod are only white or black. HDPE Rod is useful for pulleys within the water industry due to its low water absorption, ease of machining and low co-efficient of friction.
