  Polyethylene Rod

Polyethylene - “Click” here to buy online

Polyethylene or P/E is a very popular engineering thermoplastic which can be used for many applications and particularly prized for its very low friction and abrasion resistance.

It is extremely tough, cost effective and also has very good chemical resistance and impact strength.

Polyethylene is classified into several different categories. These are based mostly on the density of the material. The mechanical properties of P/E can vary significantly depending on the grade of material:

HDPE (PE300): HIGH DENSITY P/E
HDPE is an engineering plastic that is commonly used for wear strips, rollers, cutting boards, conveyor systems etc. It is also widely used in the industrial, food and automotive sectors.

HDPE (PE500): HIGH DENSITY P/E
This grade of engineering plastic has an obvious increase in density and is exceptionally popular with the food industry and is also used to line chutes and hoppers.

UHMWPE (PE1000): ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT P/E
As the name implies, PE1000 has a very high molecular weight compared to PE resulting in a supremely tough engineering plastic for even more demanding applications. It has an incredible resilience to wear and super low friction, making it a favourite material for moving parts on machines, bearings, gears, chain guides and conveyor lines

RG1000 RE-GEN
Is another superb engineering plastic and available in Green or Black, the advantage of this plastic being a reformed PE1000 material means you receive virtually all the benefits of virgin PE1000 but with the benefit of a more competitive price.

Polyethylene Sheet

As with many modern thermoplastics, Polyethylene is available in a vast selection of dimensions, making its range of applications even more diverse, although it is difficult to bond, it can be welded.

Polyethylene is commonly available in Black or Natural colour, in sheet and rod format. The sheets range from 1mm up to 50mm thick whilst the rods start at 10mm diameter and rise in stages up to a maximum of 300mm diameter.
